Questions beginners ask

Is a plant-based diet expensive?

It doesn’t have to be. Dry lentils, canned beans, oats, rice and frozen vegetables are some of the cheapest foods in any store, and this plan is built around them.

Will I get enough protein without meat?

Beans, lentils, tofu, peanut butter, nuts and seeds are all good protein sources. Including one at every meal, as the plate formula suggests, is a simple way to cover it. If you have specific nutrition needs, check with a doctor or dietitian.

Do I have to go fully vegan?

No. Many people start by eating plant-based for one week, or a few days a week, and keep the meals they enjoy.

How long do plant-based leftovers last?

Most cooked dishes keep 3–4 days in the fridge. Soups freeze well for about 3 months.
